Advanced Electron Microscopy for Quantum Materials
Developing electron-optical and spectroscopic methods for investigating the structural and electronic properties of quantum materials.
Overview
Advanced electron microscopy is the central experimental direction of my doctoral training at the Center for Quantum Materials. I am interested in combining structural imaging with electron spectroscopy to study quantum materials across real and momentum space.
Question
The broader scientific question is how local structure, electronic excitation, and collective behavior can be related through carefully controlled electron measurements.
Approach
My current training includes electron-optical alignment, probe formation, aberration-corrected microscopy, STEM operation, and spectroscopy-oriented workflows. The emphasis is on building reliable experimental practice rather than claiming expertise before it is earned.
